My Grandma and My Sister in National Costume

Gratulerer med dagen alle sammen! / Happy Norway’s National Day everyone!

I hope you’ve all had a good one! The National Day is supposed to be celebrated in national costume with parades, flags, friends, family, yummy food and all that comes with… But mine has been one of quiet celebration as I have spent my day taking my fourth exam in a short period of time (The reason for my blog absence lately)… But although the day started in stress its been a good one as I am one step closer to summer holiday! Wohoo! I’ve got another exam on thursday but after that I will basically have my freedom back as I’ve got a 10 day break before my last and least worrying exam. So get ready for some blog posts! hehe =)

This weekend I’ve been on another trip to Southern Norway. I’ve had some lovely days consisting of such as strawberries, family, prawn and avocado salad, interior design magazines, the carrie diaries, tanning, so you think you can dance, exercise, relaxation, and a wonderful boat trip in today’s beautiful sunny weather!

Today Ingrid and I have had a lovely day. We’ve been to Arendal city center and visited a few shops. Then we visited our grandparents place, where we ate yummy waffles and strawberries we picked in their garden. Now we’re relaxing at Ingrid’s place with more strawberries, mango, nuts, and Friends episodes. <3

Yesterday we celebrated midsummer by grilling salmon outside, playing volleyball and chilling out by the bonfire.

Summer days in Southern Norway are lovely! Even when the weather isn’t all that.

After a very busy day yesterday I completed everything on my to do list; move loads of stuff to a storage space, sign for the apartment I’m moving into in August (exciting!) and fly home to Norway with my two suitcases (weighing a total of 50 kg) + heavy hand luggage. A lot of heavy lifting and traveling around in London + Europe, resulting in a productive day. Unfortunately my collection of fashion magazines from this year got left behind, but I will just have to start a new collection when I return to London in August/September.

Ahh It feels good to be home for a looong holiday, and to know I will be returning to fabulous London and have an apartment to live in after the holiday.

Tonight I’ve met my home girls, Marianne and Karen, for chit chat, tapas and movies. And tomorrow will consist of a big family grill party and Whitney Houston concert. Bring on summer 2010!

On saturday we celebrated my sister Karoline’s confirmation with a family party. All the girls dressed up in “bunader”, Norway’s national costume, and there was lots of yummy food, music and games.

It was a great day and a great party!

Today my Easter holiday starts! I fly to Norway today only to repack and fly to France tomorrow. My family and I are going to Val d’isere to ski! Wohoo! Good times!

After a week in France I’m going home to Norway for a couple of weeks, and then back to London. =)

Waking up and looking out the window this morning was quite magical. We usually don’t get this much snow in December. So my brothers grabbed their skies and started railing down the street. I went for a walk around the lake with my mum and then Karoline and I wandered around in the snow taking pictures.

In the evening we had a lot of fun making the wobbliest gingerbread house ever… Karoline and I made a fun design for the house but we weren’t that successful at actually making the house. =) But at the moment it is standing and I am excited to see if it is still doing so tomorrow morning… =)
